La guerre des Malouines a repris – sur Google Earth, le site qui permet de parcourir le monde d’un clic de souris.
Des pirates argentins se sont introduits sur les cartes satellite de l’archipel britannique, revendiqué par l’Argentine, pour donner aux lieux des noms hispaniques. Port Stanley est devenu Puerto Argentino – le toponyme utilisé par les Argentins durant les soixante-quatorze jours d’occupation des Malouines en 1982 –, Port Louis a été rebaptisé Puerto San Luis, et Johnson Harbour, Puerto Johnson. “Les Argentins ne savent pas quoi inventer pour dire que les Malouines leur appartiennent.
C’est affligeant de voir qu’une organisation internationale comme Google tolère des choses pareilles”, tempête Sukey Cameron, la représentante des Malouines à Londres.
